The first on scene was deputy Warwick, as he assisted the male resident getting out of the home, White County Sheriff's Captain Jim Couch said the homeowner insisted that the deputy help get his dog out first. After the man was finally out of the home he became upset that his little dog was not breathing, that's when the deputy went above and beyond the call. Deputy Warwick performed CPR on the dog and a short time later the dog began breathing.
The unidentified homeowner, who was not injured, praised the deputy for his action. The American Red Cross was called in to assist the homeowner, who's mobile home was heavily damaged by the fire.
