"We are excited about the addition of these young ladies to our program," Davenport said. "Meredith Sellers, Jessica Coan, Lindsey Post, Sarah Johnson, Katie Garrett, Madison Dodd, and Ansley Williams will all look to continue the tradition of North Georgia softball."
Meredith Sellers comes to North Georgia from Columbiana, Alabama, where she played three seasons at Thompson High School before finishing her career at Shelby County High School. She was named the Wildcats' Team MVP as a senior while also being voted team's Best Offensive Player. During her high school career she was a member of the All-District Team each of her four years. At her previous institution, Meredith was named OVC All-Newcomer of the Year during her freshman campaign while hitting .320, 4 HR's, 4 2B's, and 20 RBI in league play. Sellers will enter the program as a junior and looks to add depth to the Saints' offensive attack.
Duluth, Georgia, native Jessica Coan joins the Saints pitching staff following two seasons competing in the ACC. The junior prepped at Greater Atlanta Christian School in Norcross, Georgia. While playing for Judy Tenney, she was named the 2007 Georgia Female Athlete of the Year and Atlanta Journal Constitution Pitcher of the Year. Her final high school season saw her finish with a 29-2 record and a 0.32 ERA in 212.2 innings pitched. While at GACS, Jessica was a member of Beta Club, Mu Alpha Theta, and Honor Roll for all four years. In 2008, her East Cobb Bullets Gold (Head Coach Keith Pauly) travel ball team finished 9th during ASA Gold Nationals.
Lindsey Post will join the Saints infield from McKinney, Texas, where she played under Head Coach Dan Sedgwick at McKinney North High School
