Lutz finished with 53 percent of the vote to Banks' 47 percent.
Talking to WDUN Tuesday night about the challenges he will face if victorious in the November election, Lutz said, "We really have to repair relations with all the counties. We really need to look you know, obviously relations have been damaged pretty bad with the city of Clermont; I believe the city of Flowery Branch and several of the other municipalities in the county, as well as the city of Gainesville. So we're really are going to have to work on trying to restore that trust."
Lutz will take on Democrat Paul Wayne Godfrey in the fall.
