Gainesville Middle School student Spencer Ralston kept that going on Tuesday, firing a 5-under, 66 on to win an Atlanta Junior Golf Tournament at Olde Atlanta Golf Club in Suwanee.
Other recent standouts include:
-- Jackson Bishop, a rising ninth grader at Gainesville High, shot a 71 on July 12 in a GSGA Sectional tournament at Mossy Creek to finish tied for first.
-- Matthew Cindea, a rising senior at Gainesville High, carded a 72 on Monday in an Atlanta Junior Golf Tournament at Hawks Ridge to finish on top of a field of 35 players.
-- Carson Brown, a rising junior, fired a 77 on Monday in the Georgia Junior PGA Summer Series at Capital City Crabapple Course. Brown finished tied for 10th. Meanwhile, Parks Brown, a rising junior, also shot a 78 at the course to finish 15th.
-- Will Frankum, a rising senior, recorded scores of 75 and 78 (153) over a two-day tournament on July 14-15 at the Greystone Junior Classic, in Dickson, Tenn. Frankum finished in 19th place.
-- Reeves Bell, a rising sophomore, carded a 72 on July 15 at an Atlanta Junior Tournament at Chestatee Golf Club, finishing first.
-- Grant Lasseter, a rising freshman, shot 80 in an Atlanta Junior Tournament at Marietta Country Club on Monday to win the event.
-- Hunter Worley, a rising sixth grader at Gainesville Middle, recently fired a 41 at an Atlanta Junior Tournament at Riverpines, finishing sixth. Worley also put up a 49 in the Beginner Open at Hawks Ridge to take fourth.
-- Ralston, a rising seventh grader, also shot a 77 on Monday in an Atlanta Junior Tournament at Hawks Ridge to win his division. He also took first place with a 75 in another Atlanta Junior Tournament at Trophy Club of Apalachee on July 15.
