GAINESVILLE - Plans to turn Chestatee Middle School into a charter school will be discussed at a public hearing Thursday night, the first of two hearings on the subject.

Thursday's hearing will be held at Hall County school board offices on Green Street; the second hearing will be next Monday at the school.

Charter school status means - among other things - changing the name of Chestatee Middle to Chestatee Academy of Inquiry and Talent Development. Read more about what charter school status would mean by clicking on the link below.

At the meetings, parents will get information about the charter and have a chance to apply for their children to attend the school.
