Pioneer 911 operator dies

GAINESVILLE - One of the first employees of the Hall County 911 System has died.

Wilma Frances "Trip" Hemphill Turner, 84, Gainesville, passed away Wednesday.

Turner was one of the original employees of Hall County 911 in 1979, when it was headquartered at Fire Station #1 on Athens Highway. She retired in 1993, but continued to work for Hall County for another 10 years at both 9ll and the sheriffâ
