Adams will talk with reporters about Damon Evans during the president's regularly scheduled media briefing Tuesday at 2 p.m. Evans resigned Sunday, just four days after he was arrested by the Georgia State Patrol in Atlanta and charged with a DUI.
Police say the 40-year-old married father of two tried to persuade the officer not to arrest him. Also arrested with Evans was 28-year-old Courtney Fuhrmann, who was charged with disorderly conduct.
Evans was taken to jail just before his new, $550,000-per-year contract took effect with UGA. The former UGA football player was the Southeastern Conference's first black athletic director, replacing legendary director and coach Vince Dooley.
