Recyclables will be collected Mon. as usual

GAINESVILLE - If you are a City of Gainesville resident and your recyclables are picked up on Mondays... they'll be collected this coming Monday when the city observes the July 4 holiday, even though there will be no city garbage pickup.

Though there will be no garbage pickup, BFI, the company that picks up recyclables in the city, will be making the rounds Monday as scheduled.... just as it did Memorial Day. That's when many people were caught off guard and did not put their recyclables out until Tuesday.

Garbage pickup will be delayed a day for the Monday and Tuesday routes.
