Suspicious fire in East Hall

GAINESVILLE - No one was hurt in a fire on White Sulphur Road off Georgia Highway 365 Friday night, and the blaze was contained to a shed, but authorities said the fire is suspicious.

"Typically, we begin to look for accidental causes first, and we haven't been able to pinpoint an accidental cause, so naturally we think it's suspicious," said Hall County Fire Chief David Kimbrell.

Kimbrell said the homeowner heard a noise around 11:00 p.m. Friday and looked outside to find his shed on fire. The contents of the structure, including a 4-wheeler and lawn equipment, and the shed itself were destroyed.

Damage has been placed at around $10,000, according to Kimbrell.
