Board Chair Kendyl Brock-Hunter said they did have some concern about the money, if it would be available because of recent funding cuts. She said this will prevent the county from coming up with the money locally.  Â
The board also heard a report from the architects on building of a new middle school.  Doug Breaux said the demolition of the old building is about 90 percent complete.Â
As the construction begins on the new middle school, Brock-Hunter said they are working with the architects to preserve a little bit of the heritage of the old building by using some of the old school brick in an area of the new building. They also will work to save some of the trees around the front of the school. Â
It was revealed during the meeting that the public citizens can stay abreast of the demolition and new construction via webcam.  William Sperin, Technology Director for the school system, said to view the webcam, log on to the White County School website and click on live video feed.Â
