Mohawk to close Cartersville facility

CARTERSVILLE - The Georgia Department of Labor says Mohawk Industries plans to close a plant in Cartersville by August 23, cutting 225 workers.

The plant is a spun yarn facility.

Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond says the plant has notified the state of its intent to close. He says the department will help employees find new jobs or enter job retraining programs.
