New NHHS band director

GAINESVILLE - North Hall High School has a new band director... one day after new revelations about the resignation of the former band director, Alan Kirkland.

Principal Joe Gheesling announced Tuesday he is recommending Kevin Carwile for the job.

Carwile will replace Alan Kirkland who suddenly resigned May 11.

It was revealed Monday that Kirkland stepped down after being confronted about an "inappropriate" relationship with a female student at North Hall. (See separate story.)

Carwile comes to North Hall from Central Gwinnett High School where he served as Orchestra Director and Assistant Band Director for ten years. He started in that position after completing his Masterâ
