The board of the Georgia Department of Community Health approved the increase on Thursday, with the price going from $15 to $25. The board had raised the fee from $10 to $15 in January.
The new fees take effect July 1.
Additional copies of a single record cost $5.
DCH spokeswoman Ravae Graham says the increase in the certificate fee is expected to generate an additional $1.8 million for the state general fund.
