Robbery/assault reported

GAINESVILLE - Gainesville police investigating a report of a robbery/assault that occurred during a cab ride.

Lt. Carol Martin says the victim, Jorge Garcia of Myrtle Street Apartments, told officers he was sharing a cab ride on Saturday with a man he did not know when the man struck him and took his money.

Garcia was not seriously injured.
