DAHLONEGA - The Lumpkin County High School history teacher, at the center of a controversy involving an incident at the school last week, has returned to the classroom.

Catherine Ariemma had been on paid administrative leave because she allowed four of her students to wear Ku Klux Klan-like robes and hoods as part of a study of racism in the U.S.

Meanwhile, efforts continue to try and ease racial tensions.

Georgia News Network reports that Anti-Defamation League has been invited to help, and Regional Director Bill Nigut says teachers can learn from the incident.

Nigut says teachers must be in contact with school officials and parents when dealing with certain issues.
