OAKWOOD - Oakwood police say they have turned up some leads in their investigation into Wednesday's robbery of United Community Bank on Mundy Mill Road.

Capt. Andy Smith said Thursday morning a one-hour search of the area around the bank turned up no sign of the suspect who was last seen on foot leaving the bank. He says a tracking dog was called in but it is now believed the robber left in a nearby getaway car.

Smith says that during the search, Oakwood police and Hall County sheriff's deputies closed off shopping center parking lots near the bank, searched a number of cars in the area as well as businesses.

He says the leads in the case came from people in nearby businesses who were shown security camera photos of the suspect.

No one was hurt during the robbery.
