The operation resulted in sixty citations being issued to businesses not in compliance with Gwinnett County ordinances.
Business Licenses are required to operate any business within the county.
A preliminary investigation established cause to believe that a significant number of businesses were not in compliance with county ordinances requiring an Occupational Tax Certificate, commonly referred to as a Business License.
Code Enforcement Officials circulated information approximately ten days in advance forewarning businesses that a compliance check would be conducted; individual businesses were afforded the opportunity to bring their certificates up-to-date.
As the checks were conducted and the absence of a valid certificate discovered, the individual businesses were each cited for violation of the Gwinnett County Ordinance.
Applicable fines will be determined by a judge at a later date.
