GAINESVILLE - The City of Gainesville has opened bidding on the pedestrian walkway that is planned over Jesse Jewell Parkway between the Georgia Mountains Center and the site where the City View Center high-rise complex is planned.

The city began advertising for bids on the project Sunday.

City View Center's plans call for two nine-story, 120,000-square-foot office buildings, a parking deck, and an 8,000-square-foot conference center and an 11- story 250-room hotel. The hotel would locate at the present site of Gainesvilleâ
