GAINESVILLE - An employee of a west Gainesville convenience store has been arrested during a gambling raid at the store.

Lt. Scott Ware says drug agents, gang task force officers and deputies with the Hall County Sheriff's Office arrested 31-year-old Manoj Kumar of Gainesville at the Pure Food Mart on Browns Bridge Road and charged him with commercial gambling.

An immigration hold was also placed on Kumar because he is in this country illegally, according to Lt. Ware.

"Agents executed a search warrant...following an under cover investigation where individuals played video poker machines and were paid for their winnings in U.S. currency," Ware said. "The search warrant at the business yielded $6,984 in U.S. Currency."
