JEFFERSON - Three Greenville, SC men are facing felony firearms charges after authorities say they transported unregistered weapons from South Carolina to Georgia.

The three are being held in the Jackson County Jail.

They were arrested March 30 after Jefferson police officers stopped them for speeding. Officers found a .22 caliber rifle with an attached silencer and two pistols. Those weapons were turned over to an agent with The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

David Judge, 35, Zachary Griffin, 24, and Lawrence Dawson, 34, are charged with transporting firearms out of state for distribution.
