Funeral service scheduled for ex-senator, husband

TOCCOA - A funeral service is scheduled in north Georgia for former state Sen. Nancy Schaefer and her husband, with current members of the Legislature planning to attend. <br /> <br /> The service will be held Wednesday afternoon in Toccoa. <br /> <br /> The 73-year-old Schaefer, the Republican candidate for lieutenant governor of Georgia in 1994, was shot to death last week by her husband, Bruce Schaefer, who then killed himself. <br /> <br /> Nancy Schaefer represented a northeast Georgia district in the state Senate and served two terms. <br />
