Kyle Hardy belted a three-run home run and pitched the final two innings for a save to pace Jefferson to the win. His first inning blast gave the Dragons (8-1, 5-0 in region) a lead they would never relinquish. He finished with two hits and four RBI for the game.
Hardy also fanned five and allowed just one hit in closing out the game for starter Jamie Sexton, who allowed just two earned runs on three hits in five innings.
Connor Phillips had two hits and two RBI for Jefferson. Drew Carson, Caleb Meek, Jake Fields, and Sexton each had one hit for the Dragons.
Jefferson grabbed the quick lead on Hardy's home run but Oglethorpe County (7-5, 1-5) answered with two runs in the bottom of the first. The Dragons, however, pulled away with single runs in the second, third, fourth, and fifth innings for a 7-2 lead.
Oglethorpe scored one run in the fifth but could not get closer.
