Under an agreement between the chapter's president and UGA's Office of Judicial Programs, the university's Lambda chapter of Pi Kappa Phi won't stage any fraternity activities before Jan. 1. After that, the fraternity will resume a limited number of social and educational events, but will not serve alcohol through May 15, 2011.
Chapter President Brent Stringer also agreed to hire a live-in adviser for the chapter, conduct a hazing prevention workshop for UGA Greeks and to rewrite the chapters education program for new members.
The sanctions follow a school investigation into the hazing after receiving an anonymous letter from someone claiming to be the father of a new pledge.
