UNDATED - The dominoes are starting to fall now that the governor has set the date for a special congressional election in the 9th District.

Most of the candidates who were already running for the post in this summer's primaries have announced plans to run in the special election which the governor Monday scheduled for April 27. (See separate story.)

And, one of them, Tom Graves, said Monday night he will resign his seat in the Georiga House Tuesday in order to run in the special election.

The special election is necessary because of Nathan Deal's resignation which he turned in Sunday night in order to devote full time to running for governor. He was already giving up the seat in order to run for the state's top elected post but could have remained a member of Congress until Dec. 31 had he not chosen to resign.
