GAINESVILLE - Damage from a late morning fire Tuesday that gutted a storage area in a building that houses Easy Out Bonding and U.S. Bonds in Gainesville is put at $50,000.

Hall County Fire Chief David Kimbrell also says the fire apparently started "in the area of the HVAC (heating and air conditioning) system."

Kimbrell said when the first firefighters arrived, about 10:45 Tuesday morning, they saw smoke pouring from the 2,500-square-foot building.

The storage area of the building was a burned out ruin, with the twisted, blackened remains of office furniture and files strewn across the ground at the side and rear of the building.
