$1.5B state education shortfall predicted

UNDATED - Officials with the State Department of Education are predicting a funding shortfall for public education in the next Fiscal Year of between $800 million and $1.5 billion.

That means "per pupil" shortfalls in Hall County Schools could be as much as $500 dollars, according to Supt. Will Schofield. And with about 26,000 students in the system, it would add up to about $13 million.
