Up to 6 inches of rain in some places

UNDATED - Some parts of north Georgia picked up six inches of rain Wednesday and flood warnings continue in some areas... although the flood watch has been cancelled.

The National Weather Service (NWS) says the warnings are in effect for Carroll, Coweta and Heard counties for possible flooding from the Chattahoochee River.
The weather service also issued warnings for the Tallapoosa River affecting Haralson County, Big Creek affecting Forsyth and north Fulton counties and the Oconee River affecting Clarke, Greene and Oconee counties. (See separate posting for detailed information.)

Rainfall totals reached as high as six inches in some parts of west and northwest Georgia. In northeast Georgia, some representative totals include: Buford, 2.48 inches; Clarkesville, 1.26 inches; and Gainesville, 2.13 inches.

And, the rainy weather is expected to continue through the weekend.
