Baseball: Panthers take advantage of error-prone Johnson

OAKOOD - Jackson County pounded out 12 hits and took advantage of six Johnson errors in taking a 12-5 win Thursday in baseball action.

The Panthers jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning getting three hits mixed wth three Johnson erors in the inning to set the tone.

Johnson cut the lead to 4-2 in the bottom of the first inning but could not get any closer against Larry Evans, who went four innings to earn the win for the Panthers.

Johnson cut th lead to 7-5 in the fourth but Jackson County answered with two runs in the fifth and three more in the seventh to put the game away.

Wayne Griffith took the loss for Johnson (3-2) despite allowing just two earned runs in four innings of work.

Griffith had two hits and two RBI for the Knights at the plate. Trae Wilson added one hit and two RBI for Johnson.
