Rhodes died in Atlanta Sunday.
Rhodes was one of the Northeast Georgia History Center's stalwart workers in the earlier days of its existence.
Her husband, Hal Rhodes, also a devoted history center supporter and worker, died a year ago.
Both were dedicated to keeping what is now the Northeast Georgia History Center open when it was located on Green Street in a building that once housed the Gainesville Fire Department, according to John W. Jacobs, Jr., who was involved in the development of the history center as it is today.
