ATLANTA - A memorial celebration will be held Feb. 27 at 1:00 at the Wesley Wood retirement home in Newnan, Ga., for Elizabeth Rhodes.

Rhodes died in Atlanta Sunday.

Rhodes was one of the Northeast Georgia History Center's stalwart workers in the earlier days of its existence.

Her husband, Hal Rhodes, also a devoted history center supporter and worker, died a year ago.

Both were dedicated to keeping what is now the Northeast Georgia History Center open when it was located on Green Street in a building that once housed the Gainesville Fire Department, according to John W. Jacobs, Jr., who was involved in the development of the history center as it is today.
