RABBITTOWN -- Following a stunning 54-42 win over Flowery Branch in the opening round of the Region 7-AAA Tournament Wednesday, Lumpkin County coach Bobby Smith made his case for senior guard E.J. Young as perhaps the most valuable player in the region.
Young set the tone early for the Indians with seven points and two steals in the first quarter, showing the favored Falcons they were not the same squad that had been whipped by nearly 40 points in the only meeting between the two teams back in December.
