Rabid raccoon found in East Hall

GAINESVILLE - A rabid raccoon has turned up in East Hall County, according to animal control officers.

Hall County Animal Services said the raccoon came into contact with a dog on Tuesday, February 9 in the Valley Glen area. The animal was sent to the Georgia Public Health Lab in Decatur and positive test results were released Wednesday.

Positive rabies alert signs will be posted in the area where the rabid raccoon was discovered.
