MIAMI - The body of a student from a south Florida university has been recovered a month after she was reported missing in Haiti's massive earthquake.

Lynn University officials say the U.S. Department of State contacted the family of 23-year-old Courtney Hayes of Douglas, Ga., Wednesday to confirm the young woman's death. Two faculty members and three students from the university remain missing.

Hayes' body was found in the wreckage of the Hotel Montana in Port-au-Prince. The missing students and professors were also inside the hotel when the earthquake struck.

Hayes and the others were part of a larger group providing food for the poor. Eight other members of that group were evacuated from the country and returned to the Palm Beach County campus three days after the disaster.

Earlier this week, the body of a missing CDC worker from Atlanta, Diane Caves, was pulled from the rubble of the same hotel.
