WCHS student arrested on theft charges

CLEVELAND - A 17-year old White County High School student has been charged with theft by taking following the report of a series of thefts at the school.

White County Sheriff's Capt. Jim Couch said Michelle Leigh Ann Maness of Long View Drive in Cleveland was seen taking a purse in the cosmetology lab at the school.

The school administration confronted her and asked to check her purse and that is where they reportedly found several iPod s and other items.

Maness was charged with two counts of theft by taking.
