Cumming man charged with church burglary

GAINESVILLE - The pastor of a Gainesville church discovered a burglary-in-progress at the church Sunday morning and a suspect was quickly arrested.

It was one of two burglary arrests announced Monday by the Hall County Sheriff's Office..

Spokesman Jeff Strickland says that about 8:25 Sunday morning, deputies responded to a 911 from Lakeview Hills Baptist Church on Dawsonville Highway.

"Upon arrival,deputies were met by the pastor of the church, who advised he thought someone had broken into the church and that they was possibly still inside," Col. Strickland said. "Deputies entered and searched the church, locating the perpetrator locked inside a bathroom."

Andrew Willmon, 21, Cumming was arrested and charged with Burglary and Criminal Damage to Property (2nd degree). He was still being held in the Hall County Detention Center early Monday afternoon in lieu of $10,000 bond.

SECOND BURGLARY ARREST

Investigators with the Hall County Sheriff's Office have arrested a Gainesville man in connection with a burglary that occurred in January on Baker Road off of Candler Road.

"After following up on leads, sheriff's investigators along with deputies with the sheriff's office's Crime Suppression Unit were able to identify the perpetrator responsible for the break in and theft," Strickland said. "Investigators also recovered a tool box and assorted jewelry that was taken from the home during the burglary."

Clyde Jess Reeves III, 33, was charged with burglary and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and was being held Monday afternoon in the detention center without bond.
