ATLANTA - State transportation officials have used $13.2 million federal stimulus money to pay for 12 projects in January.

The projects are mostly primarily resurfacings and bridge replacements.

Included is four miles of resurfacing and shoulder reconstruction on various Hall County roads. The work is expected to be finished by June 30. The low bidder was Strickland Sons Pipeline, Inc. of Gainesville. The bid was $757,911. Some of the work will also be done by Tony cook Trucking Ltd. and Jake Martin & Son Contractors, Inc.

The Georgia Department of Transportation has now awarded more than $600 million for 243 separate stimulus projects since the program began last May.
