WEATHER ALERT - Possible icy road conditions

GAINESVILLE - The National Weather Service has issued an alert for the possibility of light, freezing rain across portions of northeast Georgia.

The alert includes the following information:

DUE TO THE LIMITED MOISTURE AND VERY LIGHT RAIN...LITTLE TO NO SIGNIFICANT ICE ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED. HOWEVER...IF FREEZING RAIN DOES DEVELOP...THERE WILL BE NUMEROUS SLICK SPOTS DUE TO THIN ICE ON ROADS...BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES...MAKING THE THURSDAY MORNING COMMUTE VERY HAZARDOUS.

MOTORISTS ARE URGED TO USE EXTREME CAUTION AND SLOW DOWN. THE
THIN ICE WILL NOT BE VERY NOTICEABLE UNTIL IT IS TOO LATE.

Fannin
Floyd
Gilmer
Gordon
Lumpkin
Murray
Pickens
Polk
Towns
Union
Walker
