Nesbitt to receive Girl Scout award

GAINESVILLE - The president of Gainesville State College has been named 2011 Woman of Distinction by the Girl Scouts.

Dr. Martha Nesbitt will receive the award duirng a luncheon in her honor on March 15 at the First United Methodist Church in Gainesville.

In recognizing Dr. Nesbitt for the honor, the Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia, the group that makes the award annually, describes her as "a woman who is a community servant and is an outstanding model for girls of all ages."
