SENECA, S.C. - Authorities say they suspect a northeast Georgia who died after a wreck on a snowy South Carolina road had been drinking before the crash.

48-year-old Scott John Campbell of Toccoa died Sunday after a heart attack on the way to a hospital.

South Carolina Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. Bill Rhyne says Campbell was driving his pickup in Oconee County at around 1:30 a.m. when he crossed the center line and hit another pickup head on.

Rhyne says Campbell died around 6:30 a.m. of chest injuries. The other driver was wearing a seatbelt and had only minor injuries.

It was snowing at the time of the wreck, but Rhyne says there was no snow accumulated on the wet road.
