Lanierland: Jefferson girls rout Johnson

OAKWOOD -- Jefferson opened with a 17-7 first quarter and then cruised to a 55-28 win over Johnson Wednesday in girls action at the Lanierland Tournament at the West Hall gym.

The Lady Dragons (7-4) extended their lead to 27-13 by halftime and then blew the game open with an 18-9 third quarter.

Jefferson finished the tournament 1-2 while Johnson went 0-3 in the tournament.

All 12 of the Jefferson players who entered the game scored, paced by nine points from Bailey Boyd. Skylar Evanson had eight points for the Lady Dragons. Jefferson hit five 3-pointers and was 12-of-24 from the free throw line.

Johnson (5-5) was led by eight points from Caitlin Sloan. The Lady Knights did not hit a 3-pointer and were just 8-of-20 from the free throw line.
