UNDATED - The "changing of the guard" has begun at county courthouses in northeast Georgia... as newly-elected county commissioners begin taking their oaths of office.

In Forsyth County Monday, Pete Amos and Todd Levent were sworn-in.

Amos replaces commission chairman Charles Laughinghouse who chose not to seek re-election... meaning the Forsyth commission will also have a new chairman next year. Levent defeated vice-chairman Jim Harrell in the August Republican Primary.

Meanwhile, next week, two new Hall County Commissioners will take their oaths of office: Craig Lutz on Monday and Scott Gibbs on Tuesday. Lutz will replace Bobby Banks, whom he defeated in a Republican Primary runoff, and Gibbs will replace Steve Gailey who chose not to run for re-election.
