DAWSONVILLE - The investigation into the cause of a fatal house fire in Dawson County early last Thursday morning has been completed.

"The cause of the fire is undetermined although investigators are not ruling out electrical with the origin of the fire being located in the vicinity of the laundry room," Dawson County Emergency Services Deputy Chief Tim Satterfield said Monday.

However, investigators have learned that there were no working smoke detectors in the house at the time of the early morning fire.

Killed in the 12:30 a.m. blaze was Rosa Lee Holtzclaw, 84.

When firefighters arrived at 200 Pinewood Trail, they were told Holtzclaw was trapped inside the burning house. They made entry into the house and found Holtzclaw in a bedroom.

"The patient was removed from the residence and transported to Northside Forsyth where she was pronounced dead," Dawson County Fire Chief Lanier Swafford said at the time.
