Piedmont College plans nursing program on Athens campus

DEmOREST - Piedmont College says it will begin offering a bachelor's degree program in nursing at its Athens campus nest year. <br /> <br /> The college has been offering a bachelor of science in nursing degree program at its Demorest campus for 10 years. <br /> <br /> Linda Scott, dean of Piedmont's R.H. Daniel School of Nursing at the private college's main campus, says the shortage of nurses has grown worse in that time. <br /> <br /> Scott says the college plans to begin enrolling students in February for classes that will begin next August. She says students will have the training of registered nurses, but also take courses in research, community health and basic liberal arts. <br />
