LAWRENCEVILLE - In a bizarre case of animal cruelty, two cousins are charged by Gwinnett County Police with torturing and killing an 8-month-old deer.

Stanley Hugh Ivy of Lawrenceville, age 42, faces a number of charges in addition to animal cruelty.

Fox 5 News reports that he has also been charged with two hunting violations by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.

Authorities said Ivy was arrested after he allegedly sent postcards to an inmate at the Gwinnett County Jail showing photos of the young animal stabbed, mutilated and finally decapitated.

Ivy told police that his cousin, 39-year-old Orvie B. Crawford of Oxford, was responsible for the torture. Both were arrested Wednesday.
