S. Hall shooting victim identified

FLOWERY BRANCH - Authorities have released the name of the victim from Monday morning's apparent accidental shooting at a South Hall mobile home park, but they said the investigation is ongoing.

Hall County Sheriff's Col. Jeff Strickland said 19-year-old Jerrod Turner underwent surgery at Grady Memorial Hospital following the shooting at Country Side Village off Friendship Road.

Strickland said Turner is in stable condition but investigators have not been able to speak with him.

Strickland said deputies found Turner with a gunshot wound to the abdomen when they arrived around 8:00. He said the victim was "conscious and alert" and was taken by air ambulance to Grady.

Investigators remained on the scene at mid-morning, looking into the events leading up to the shooting.
