Our President is out of the United States, flitting around the world when he should be here at home learning bi-partisanship, and liberals plus the mainstream media are defending him. "Oh," they say, "that was planned weeks ago." I listened carefully to his entire press conference the day after the election, and one of his key points was how difficult it is to know what is going on in America when you are in the White House. The fact is he had spent days on end out of the White House talking to people, raising money and trying to "energize his base." Which means he was talking, not listening.
And who was at those meetings? Union big wigs at one end of the spectrum, and mega-rich entertainers, trial lawyers, and financial friends of George Soros on the other. The President heads the executive branch of our government. He is responsible for its operation within the boundaries set by Congress. Every executive of every private business in America must know (and understand) what is going on in his or her market. It applies to the smallest business and the largest corporation. That is basic. Most past presidents, of both parties, have used a strong cabinet as their sounding board. They have sought and had respect for the opinions of members of Congress and governors.
President Obama postponed this trip to India while he was campaigning rather than governing. Had he been listening to we-the-people, even before the election, he would be at home and on duty. It is bad enough to have a "lame duck" Congress in session because it failed to do its job on time. And now we have an AWOL President. .
