WALESKA -- Brenau Sophomore forward Gabby Harvey (Lilburn) had a double-double tonight with 18 points and 13 rebounds to lead the way in a 67-60 overtime win over Reinhardt University (3-4). The Tigers have won their first three games of the season, all on the road.

Harvey was supported by Sophomore Nikki Reed (Atlanta), who came off the bench to score 17 on 7-11 shooting and Freshman Brittney Wiley, who scored 12 points to go with a solid floor game at the point. Freshman Raveen Crawford was solid with seven points and seven rebounds.

Reinhardt opened the game with a 10-4 advantage before the Tigers roared back to lead at the half 31-30. The second half was close all the way, with the Eagles scoring with 9 seconds left in regulation to force the overtime. Brenau outscored Reinhardt 9-2 in the extra period, with Reed and Wiley sinking critical free throws to ice the win. Erin Courington led the Eagles with 15 points.

Neither team shot particularly well, with BU shooting .397 and RU at .339. Brenau won the rebounding battle 41-40 and made 15-19 free throws to show improvement in that area. Both teams were cold from behind the arc, with the Tigers hitting only 2-14 and the Eagles managing 2-16.

"I thought we grew up a little tonight and found a way to win a game that we could have easily lost," said Coach Gary Bays. "Gabby was a warrior and Nikki was huge off the bench for us. It feels good to start the season on the road and come out with a 3-0 record."

The Tigers will open the home portion of their schedule when they host SSAC West Division pre-season favorite Loyola of New Orleans on Friday night at 5:30 at the Brenau gym.
