Kroger coming to Sugar Hill, bringing 150 jobs

SUGAR HILL - The opening of a new Kroger grocery store is bringing 150 new jobs to the Sugar Hill area.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the 93,000-square-foot store is opening on Georgia 20 Thursday. The store will include a Starbucks, drive-through pharmacy, floral department and expanded deli.

Kroger has four days of celebrations planned for the opening including an ice cream social, a performance by the the Lanier High School drum ensemble and an appearance by the Atlanta Falcons mascot.

Meanwhile, Kroger is planning to close one of its Cumming stores, the one near the Georgia 20/Georgia 400 interchange.
