GAINESVILLE - The Hall County Board of Education Monday night was updated by Student Services Director Jim Sargent on efforts throughout the school system to eliminate bullying. The board reinforced its goal of remaining "vigilant" but at the same time open to new ways of keeping students safe.

The board also approved a suggestion to draft a policy requiring all personnel to report arrests to their immediate supervisor within 72 hours. Still to be decided: whether this will include felonies and misdemeanors or just felonies. Also, Supt. Will Schofield said the policy would probably not include traffic tickets, except for bus drivers.

H. Lloyd Hill and Associates of Gainesville was hired for the architectural design for renovations at West Hall High, North Hall Middle and East Hall Middle schools. The firm was the low bidder on the work.
