ATLANTA - A 73-year-old Union County woman has won $1 million from the Georgia Lottery.

Gladys Wigley of Blairsville said she's going to use the money to retire from the dry cleaning business where she's worked for six years and buy a new house. Mostly, she said, she's "going to just enjoy life."

Wigley - has two children, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren - celebrated her 73rd birthday Nov. 3. She won her $1 million playing the instant game Maximum Green.

Rebels Pantry #8, located at 3350 Murphy Highway in Blairsville, sold the winning ticket.

"I almost passed out," Wigley recalled after scratching her ticket. "I had to ask the girl at the counter if I was seeing it right. She was jumping up and down."
