"I look forward to working across party lines," Deal told a post-election news conference Wednesday. "I think that's what's good for our state."
Deal also said he welcomes input from his Democratic opponent in Tuesday's election, Roy Barnes. Deal called Barnes a "bright man," adding that some of the ideas he advocated during the campaign "have merit."
